Das Buch In The Haze dokumentiert Fotografien, die Brigitte Rühland über einen Zeitraum von 10 Jahren während ihrer mehrfachen Aufenthalte in Indien aufnahm.

Als Folge eines Sehens, das durch die Linsen der Kamera hindurch die Bedingungen des eigenen Tuns und die Möglichkeiten des fotografischen Apparates mitbedenkt, sind diese Bilder entstanden. Die Bild erzeugenden Eigenschaften der Fotografie ließen auf diese Weise das Erlebte mit eigenen Befindlichkeiten verknüpfen. Resultate sind Bild gewordenen Lichtspuren und heterotope Räume, die die Grenzen der aufgesuchten Orte öffnen.

The book In The Haze documents photographs that Brigitte Rühland captured over a period of 10 years during her many trips to India.

These pictures were created as a result of viewing through the lenses of the camera, taking into account the conditions of one’s own actions and the possibilities of the photographic apparatus. In this way, the image-generating properties of photography allowed the momentary experience to be linked to one’s own sensitivities. The results are pictorial traces of light and heterotopic spaces that open the boundaries of the places visited.
